Hospice Services is an important part of Community Care City of Kawartha Lakes, and is a program of care rather than a place. Much of the care that we offer is referred to as “palliative care,” which recognizes the emotional, physical, spiritual, and practical needs of each person living with illness and their family. Our goal is to support each family member through this time of illness, death and bereavement according to their needs and wishes. Whether you or a loved one has just been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness, are grieving or are a caregiver, please know that our team is here to help.
Our Hospice programs offer both group settings, as well as one-to-one support, both in-person and virtual. All Hospice programs are offered by self-referral, and are free of charge. We rely on generous donations from the community to support our underfunded and unfunded areas of service.
