Meals on Wheels delivers more than just nutritious food. Our program provides affordable hot and frozen meals to older adults and individuals with special needs across the City of Kawartha Lakes. Each delivery also includes a wellness check and a moment of connection with one of our caring volunteers, helping support overall health and well-being.

Hot Meals on Wheels

Enjoy a warm, freshly prepared lunch delivered right to your door, along with a friendly check-in from one of our volunteers. Our hot meals are nutritious, affordable, and designed to meet a variety of dietary needs and preferences. Each meal includes soup, a bun, a main entrée, and dessert. Delivery is included with your order.

Frozen Meals on Wheels

Our frozen meals offer choice and flexibility, with entrees, soups, and desserts prepared by Apetito Canada. Options are available for regular and special diets, including gluten-free, diabetic, low sodium, vegetarian, and more.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. If you are not already a client of CCCKL, you may submit your order online and service staff will contact you to establish your eligibility to receive this service and will register you as a client. 

There are a few ways to pay for your Meals on Wheels order:

  • Visa or MasterCard (staff will contact you and you will be required to give your credit card information over the phone)
  • Cheque (made payable to Community Care City of Kawartha Lakes on delivery)
  • Online banking – using “Community Care Kawartha Lakes” and your 14-digit client number

We require your date of birth for statistical purposes, an emergency contact, your health status and your health card number. 

No. Your meals will be delivered to you at no charge by volunteers who have been screened and oriented to the program.
